You don't have to go very far to find a nice little section of the desert to tear up. The Fortuna Foothills Offroad Recreational Area is located just off Hwy 95 on Fortuna Road. The area is maintained by local residents who enjoy the outdoors, each year residents come together to hold a clean-up. Visitors are asked to leave the area cleaner than it was. The area is referred to locally as the "sandbox" and is not far from a hotel, restaurants, and gas stations. The area is perfect for dirt bikes, quads, side-by-sides and sand rails.
