Just west of the Yuma City Limits lies the Imperial Sand Dunes and among it Buttercup Valley. Buttercup Valley has grown to become a popular getaway for off-road enthusiasts from all over. During the holidays Buttercup Valley becomes a makeshift city with mobile vendors and eateries. The area is closely patrolled by the Bureau of Land Management, The California Highway Patrol, and the U.S. Border Patrol which has and can provide medical assistance. Buttercup Valley extends from Interstate 8 to the U.S./Mexico Border. There are restrooms and a paved access road. Buttercup Valley is perfect for outdoor adventurers of all ages. Four-wheel drive is needed.
