El Golfo de Santa Clara

Sonora

El Golfo de Santa Clara is just two hours south of the U.S./Mexico border and rests on the shores of the Gulf of California. El Golfo de Santa Clara is referred to as "Yuma's beach" because of its proximity to Yuma, Arizona. The tourist destination draws massive crowds during the summers as beach lovers camp on the beach. El Golfo is a hot spot for offroad enthusiasts since the area offers a variety of terrain options and it's the home of El Machorro a large dune area known for its steep incline. The area is a favored spot for those looking to test their vehicle's horsepower. On any day you can find, trucks, side-by-sides, and motorcycles going head-to-head. And, for those who didn't bring any toys with them, rentals are available.

Just cross the San Luis Rio Colorado Port of Entry and head east on Obregon and take the Liabramiento Santa Clara south then merge on Sonora 3 (Note: These are tolled roads) turn left on Sonora 40 and through to Santa Clara.
