Picacho State Recreation Area
Whether you're driving through the area or you call the Desert Southwest home Picacho is a big part of our region. The mountain towers over the Quechan Tribe who has called the region home for thousands of years. Over a century ago Picacho was home to a mining town with more than 100 residents. Now, wilderness lovers and offroad enthusiasts are drawn to the area. The Picacho Trail is a 14-mile ride with a mixture of rocky terrain and loose sand. (32.79687, -114.61351)
