Yuma's Iceberg Drop
Yuma's Iceberg Drop Celebration
On December 31, 2019, an illuminated, embellished head of iceberg lettuce will be dropped in Yuma's Historic Downtown as part of Visit Yuma's second annual Iceberg Drop on New Year’s Eve. The iceberg head is a giant, fabricated head of iceberg lettuce, lit from the inside.
From 8:00 p.m. until Midnight, music will also be a big part of the celebration, featuring live music on stage from Radical Rewind, and tunes throughout the evening provided by BMC Productions & Entertainment.
Beer will be available for sale, as well as coffee and hot chocolate, and complimentary party favors will be available as long as supplies last.
Iceberg lettuce was chosen as the symbol of the event due to the importance of and the community’s close ties to the local agriculture industry which produces about 93% of the nation’s winter leafy vegetables. In addition to the lit head of iceberg lettuce, a large countdown clock will add to the excitement of this fun, community event which will be bringing together locals and visitors alike.
Share the countdown on your website. Email us at Communications@VisitYuma.com to request for the embed code of the timer.
