Shopping for your loved ones this holiday season doesn’t have to be stressful. The Visitor Information Center & Souvenir Shop has a plethora of uniquely Yuman gifts that our team loves and always recommends. If you are uncertain as to what to get your special someone, our Visitor Information Center (VIC) team will assist and share their personal gift suggestions to give you some ideas when it’s time for you to shop this holiday season.

Leslie Fain - Office Manager

Leslie tends to gravitate more towards items unique to the area, like pieces from Colorado River Pottery; some of the items even have the beautiful Colorado River painted on them. Colorado River Pottery offers everything from large bowls to small bowls, coffee mugs to coffee scoops, and much more, all locally made in Yuma. Leslie also tends to recommend the Yuma Pint Glasses and the Yuma Beanie because those items follow the theme of uniquely Yuman items, which can’t be found anywhere else.

Annette Van Stratten - Visitor Information Center Assistant Manager

Annette’s current three favorite items are the Amethyst, Crystal and Agate magnets, the Desert Southwest-inspired Christmas ornaments, and colorful decor tiles. The crystal magnets are quite the sight to see, as they have a natural shine and sparkle. The Christmas ornaments are perfect for adding some southwestern flair to any holiday tree. From hand painted, glittery desert landscape ornaments to quirky ones like Santa on a kayak, there are many different styles to choose from. The decor tiles add a colorful touch to any living space; pick from one of the many designs available at the VIC.

Dawnya Sasse - Visitor Information Specialist

Dawnya loves all the books offered at the VIC. She is a history buff and cooking fan, so she appreciates the VIC’s unique selection of handpicked cookbooks and Arizona/Old Wild West reads. In addition to the reading selection, Dawyna commonly recommends the Cactus Cookie Cutters, the book 101 Things To Do With A Tortilla, and the Yuma sunshine magnets. The cookie cutters make for cute stocking stuffers and are great for all ages. The 101 Things To Do With A Tortilla cookbook is a favorite in the shop because it walks you through all the ways to revamp and enjoy a tortilla. The Yuma sunshine magnets are perfect to add in a Christmas card and bring a bit of the Sunniest City on Earth to your loved one.

Ashley Nash - Visitor Information Specialist

Ashley loves the items that are unique and hard to find elsewhere. Her three favorite items in the VIC are the Yuman Christmas ornaments, Amethyst and Crystal magnets, and the stemless Yuma wine glasses. The ornaments are her favorite because decorating for the holidays has always been a love of hers and they make great gifts for her family back home in Michigan. She is also obsessed with the magnets because they are just simply mesmerizing and unique to the southwest. The Yuma stemless wine glasses make excellent gifts for anyone of drinking age — pair with the Yuma wine stopper — and let’s be honest, you can never have too many.
