Chamber Lunch and Learn

Join the Yuma Chamber of Commerce for Chamber Lunch and Learn "An Increased Arizona Minimum Wage: the Good, the Bad & the Ugly for Yuma Businesses",  featuring Dr. Michelle Sims of Arizona Western College on Thursday, May  23. This is a great informational event based on local information that impacts our Yuma community and businesses.

Dr. Michelle Sims, Arizona Western College Professor of Economics, is in her 11th year at AWC teaching Economics, Marketing, and Management. Her real-world experiences from production management at Frito-Lay to her service as a US Army Intelligence Officer help her students connect to real-world decision-making. During the Spring of 2018, Professor Sims conducted a qualitative multi-case study to explore how a 20% minimum wage increase affected rural small businesses that operate in highly competitive markets, with extreme resource constraints. Dr. Sims will discuss her findings and implications of the minimum wage research, as well as her recent findings from her continued study.

Get tickets here. For more information please call the chamber office at 928-782-2567.
