Annual Catfish Rodeo & Nature Fair

The Optimist Club sponsors this annual event at the West Wetlands Park gives youngsters (age 13 and under) a chance at catching one of ten tagged fish for prizes. While the Catfish Rodeo is going on for the youth, everyone is invited to take part in the Nature Fair.  Kids will be able to shoot a bow, learn about gun safety, and see animals that live in our desert environment.  Participants should bring their own bait and fishing gear; a limited supply of gear is available on loan from the Arizona Game and Fish Department.  Other partners for this event are U.S. Fish and Wildlife, Bureau of Land Management, and the City of Yuma Parks and Recreation Department.  For more information, call 928-373-5200.
