This event is a United for Yuma effort, and one of three Day of Unity’s spearheaded by Yuma Mayor Douglas Nicholls within the last several years. The event aims to serve as a volunteer-driven initiative, where local residents can give back to their community in a united, collaborative event. All costs and work are by local residents and staff.
Day of Unity is a multifaceted event that includes words of inspiration, a community cleanup for properties where owners need assistance, and the contribution of a new public art/beautification project.
Light breakfast will be provided.
Mayor Douglas Nicholls, Chief of Police John Lekan and other leaders will be giving a speech before the event starts.
