A 'so long' to summer means the return of Jazz Nights outdoors at Julieanna's Patio Cafe. Yuma Jazz Company's Steven Hennig prepares to strike up the band with this season preview ...
For many Yumans and visitors to the area, the gradual return of the ‘winter’ season means the gratifying fulfillment of dormant desires: the fantastic Yuma weather (of course) and the renewed vitality of special events, pastimes, soirees, and remarkable adventures.
Now, Yuma has more than its share of all the above, to be sure. But here’s one very cool option which tends to be a little unexpected in this friendly desert town: Great live jazz offered weekly in a unique, casually sophisticated outdoor setting — it is Jazz at Julieanna’s!
Presented EVERY Friday evening, October through April, from 7 to 9 at Julieanna’s Patio Cafe’ (1951 W 25th Street), the series offers a variety of engaging performers in an pleasant patio setting which is heated when chilly, and coolly inviting when warm.
And then there’s the music itself! Great jazz just fits this setting — excitement and subtlety; action and reaction; blues and artistry. Featured performers will be the highly regarded Yuma Jazz Company Quintet, award-winning Phoenix guitarist Pete Pancrazi, local dynamic duo Jason & Elle, and the popular YJC Trio. All the great music happens while attendees are pampered amid stylishly comfortable surroundings.
You owe it to yourself to check it out! You can find the full schedule and more info on the musicians at YumaJazz.com,have a look the food and wine menus at Julieannas.com, and call ahead at 928-317-1961 to make a reservation.
