Visit Yuma is very proud to launch the VISIT YUMA APP designed by Visit Widget, this tool provides a new way to explore what the city has to offer, including upcoming events, popular restaurants, area hot spots, shopping, and points of interest.

“We recognize that mobile technology and digital channels are the future of tourism, we are clearly seeing the trend as 51% of our website visits come from mobile devices,” says Linda Morgan, Visit Yuma Executive Director. “The Visit Yuma App is integrated with our website's information,  it is designed to help visitors plan and build their Yuma itinerary and even useful for locals so they can get updates with the latest happenings in the area.

The new app’s capabilities include the MY PLAN tab where user’s selected interests will be available for their itinerary or route, an EVENTS tab for the calendar of Yuma events, ATTRACTIONS page for Yuma’s tourism-related areas, EAT & SLEEP for Yuma’s hotels, bars and restaurants,  a SOCIAL FEED to get a glance on Visit Yuma’s social media pages, and TOURS page for suggested self-guided tours in the area.

The app can help you get organized and maximize your vacation or visit in Yuma. Sharing what you love about Yuma is also possible; simply send your plan to your family and friends through email, text and social media.

Visit Yuma markets the Yuma area within the travel and tourism industry and to the general public. Yuma's population nearly doubles in the winter months, thanks to more than 23,000 spots in RV parks and resorts. The community also offers nearly 4,300 hotel rooms, conference and meeting facilities, and three casinos. Recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's sunniest spot, Yuma offered free meals to hotel guests "every day the sun doesn't shine" from Aug. 1, 2011 until July 31, 2012 as part of Arizona's Centennial celebration. YUMA, ARIZONA – The Colorado River State Historic Park is hosting our 10th annual Civil War Days reenactment weekend on Jan. 26-27, 2019, at the historic Yuma Quartermaster Depot, 201 N. 4th Avenue.

This year’s event features new appearances by Mrs. Mary Todd Lincoln, wife of President Abraham Lincoln, and Mrs. Julia Grant, wife of Lincoln’s top general Ulysses S. Grant.  Despite their husbands’ close association, Mrs. Lincoln and Mrs. Grant became social rivals, as will be reflected in their reenactment performances.

Territorial Prison and Colorado River State Historic Parks open seven days a week

YUMA, ARIZ. — Tourism season is returning to Yuma, and with it, the city's two historic state parks will once again be welcoming visitors seven days a week.

Beginning October 1, Yuma Territorial Prison220 N. Prison Hill Road, and Colorado River State Historic Park201 N. Fourth Avenue, will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. This includes the return to daily operations for the Yuma Visitor Information Center, located at the entrance to the Colorado River State Historic Park.
